Read an Read An E-Book Week is March 6-12, 2011. Founded in 2004 by Rita Y. Toews, who registered the event with Chase’s Calendar of Events as a way to not only celebrate and promote the electronic book format, but also to give it legitimacy.
I hate to admit it, but this is the first I’ve heard of Read An E-Book Week. However, my coming late to the game, doesn’t dappen my excitement! And not just because I’m an author of books that are only published digitally, but because 80% of the books I purchase regularly are downloaded.
During the week, Read An E-Book Week’s founders hope that others will participate by promoting e-books through displays and social media networks. In turn, they’re giving one lucky participant a Nook and a Kobo!
