The Misfits Inspires an Alternate Ending

by Koko Brown January 20, 2012
written by Koko Brown January 20, 2012

About three weeks ago, I was introduced to a British television show called The Misfits.

A cross between Heroes and Freaks & Geeks, the show revolves around five teenagers serving their community service at the local community center.

Unfortunately on the first day, said teenagers, are caught in a wicked storm and struck by lightning while painting benches outside the center. Although they survived they were each given supernatural powers from being painfully irresistible to invisibility, the ability to rewind time, immortality and telepathy.

After watching one episode, I quickly gobbled up all three seasons in a matter of days. And like most fans of the show I was highly unsatisfied with the season finale which ended this past December with the death of a key character and the leaving of another.

Yes, I know all about the two actors wanting to leave the show, but that doesn’t mean we don’t love the characters any less or want a better solution to their untimely departure. Even though I’ve never tried my hand at interracial fan fiction, The Misfits have spurred me to try my hand at bringing the show’s favorite couple, Simon and Alisha, back to life (of course after all my contractual obligations are taken care of:).

Of course it’s complicated at best since it involves tampering with a universal timeline, and many in the blogosphere have offered complicated solutions, but I’m going to give it a good try.

I’ll be posting my version of the alternate ending really soon! So check back….

Cheers!
