Insert picture of me jumping for joy!
As a film buff and person of color, this news brings me joy. There is more than enough room for black love and romance. Sadly, there’s a chasm to be filled. And I’m so HERE for what I’ve termed a culture move. Mrs. Jackson has more than enough material–125 novels and novellas–to whet our appetites! Her partner, Bobby Smith Jr. will produce and write the film and TV adaptations. Smith has writing and production credits for Jason’s Lyric (1994), There Are No Children Here (1993) and Burst.
According to the press release, the pair are looking to adapt Jackson’s bestselling Catalina Cove Series, Madaris Series, Playas Series, Bennett Series, as well as others from her back list.
