Time to pull out my shiny shoes!
I’ve been invited to participate in The Diamond’s Literary Tea Party and Deborah’s Diamond Gala and Bachelor Auction to be held in Savannah, Georgia June 10-11, 2017. Hosted by author Deborah Mello, this reader event will begin with a literary tea billed as an afternoon of ‘great story-telling, delightful conversation, and tons of laughter’. Our host, will spill some tea and readers will get to meet and interact with invited authors but I think the real highlight for me will be the showing off of everyone’s Kentucky Derby hats. Just between you and me, I’ve always wanted to participate in one of these. I love big hats. I love formal teas.I’m tickled pink.
Besides yours truly, other participating authors include: Kianna Alexander, Iris Bolling, Koko Brown, Sharon C. Cooper, Cassandra Durham, Constance Gilliam, Sherelle Green, Norwood Holland, Piper Hugeley, Beverly Jenkins, Dwayne S. Joseph, Lasheera Lee, Monica Richardson and Pamela Varnardo.
But we won’t take off shiny shoes just yet! Later in the evening will don our 1920’s attire and join Deborah and her diamonds in the speakeasy parlor for Deborah’s Diamond Gala and Bachelor Auction. The Savannah Harbor Westin ballroom will be transformed into a prohibition-style speakeasy where the only way to get in is with a password! The night will include dining, jazz and some serious beefcake who will walk the runway to benefit the American Cancer Society. I’m sure you can guess what I’m looking forward to…bow chicka bow wow!

Deborah’s Bio
Writing since she was old enough to put pen to paper, Deborah Fletcher Mello firmly believes that for her, writing is as necessary as breathing. Her first novel, TAKE ME TO HEART, earned her a 2004 Romance Slam Jam nomination for Best New Author. In 2008, Deborah won the Romantic Times Reviewers Choice award for Best Series Romance for her ninth novel, TAME A WILD STALLION. Her publication, CRAVING TEMPTATION was named one of Publisher’s Weekly Best Books for 2014 and was also nominated for a 2015 Emma Award for Book of the Year. As well, her novel PLAYING FOR KEEPS was a Library Journal Best of 2015 and won the Romantic Times Reviewer’s Choice award for Best Multicultural Romance. Most recently, Deborah was named the 2016 Romance Slam Jam Author of the Year. Born and raised in Fairfield Country, Connecticut, Deborah maintains base camp in North Carolina but considers home to be wherever the moment moves her.
